LAHORE, Jun 16 (APP): Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Abdul Kareem on Tuesday took notice of the killing of three persons in a firing incident in Gujrat and sought a report from the regional police officer (RPO) Gujranwala.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, the IGP directed district police officer (DPO) Gujrat to ensure the immediate arrest of the suspect involved in the incident and ordered that all available resources be utilised to bring the accused to justice.
Acting swiftly, the Gujrat police constituted special teams and arrested the accused shortly after the incident.
Police said a case had been registered and further investigations were underway.
The deceased were identified as the suspect’s brother, Sufyan Arshad, sister-in-law, Ramsha Sufyan, and Munawar Hussain.
The IGP emphasised that strict legal action would be taken against those involved and directed officers to ensure a transparent and merit-based investigation.
