Chief Secretary for prioritizing development projects & ensure infrastructure strength in Balochistan

Balochistan Chief Secretary (CS) Shakeel Qadir Khan on Tuesday presided over a meeting to prioritize development issues and ensure the strength of infrastructure in the province.

QUETTA, Jun 16 (APP): Balochistan Chief Secretary (CS) Shakeel Qadir Khan on Tuesday presided over a meeting to prioritize development issues and ensure the strength of infrastructure in the province.
The meeting reviewed the progress of various strategic projects underway at the provincial and district levels and gave instructions to ensure timely completion of the projects, quality control and public benefits.
Addressing the meeting, the Chief Secretary said that timely and transparent completion of strategic projects not only strengthens the infrastructure but also brings economic stability by creating new employment opportunities.
He said that better roads, clean water, quality health and education facilities and sustainable sources of energy make the daily life of the people easier and safer, which enables prosperity of families, improvement in children’s education and better health outcomes.
He said that the provincial government has launched Safe City projects in different districts, in which cameras, command and control centers and other security systems would be improved to strengthen the civil security system.
The meeting reviewed the stages of infrastructure installation, a program has been launched to construct additional rooms in schools with the aim of making the educational infrastructure attractive and standard and 704 rooms out of 3000 will be completed this month.
The expansion of irrigation facilities in the agricultural command areas and implementation of modern agricultural arrangements were reviewed, which is expected to improve the production and income of farmers.
The meeting emphasized on timely financial approval of the projects taken up and transparent use of funds.
The Chief Secretary directed coordinated monitoring to ensure compliance with standard construction and safety standards saying that transparent and effective completion of projects is the priority of the province and directed all concerned authorities to take all possible steps in this regard.
He said that positive results of ongoing development projects in the sectors of energy, agriculture, Balochistan Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority  (BTEVTA), education and health, public health, enterprise development, livestock are emerging, which is encouraging.
