Poetry collection ‘Ishq Ilham Hai’ launched in Islamabad

The launch ceremony of poet, columnist and academic Dr. Aqleem Fatimah’s new poetry collection “Ishq Ilham Hai” was held at The Black Hole Auditorium on Tuesday.

ISLAMABAD, Jun 16 (APP): The launch ceremony of poet, columnist and academic Dr. Aqleem Fatimah’s new poetry collection “Ishq Ilham Hai” was held at The Black Hole Auditorium on Tuesday.
Moderated by poet and journalist Sajjad Baloch, the event brought together literary scholars, poets and readers for a discussion on contemporary Urdu poetry, women’s writing and the role of poetry in expressing human experience.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ambreen Salahuddin described Aqleem Fatimah’s work as a blend of love, spirituality, social consciousness and lived experience.

She noted that the collection contributes to the long tradition of women’s voices in Urdu literature.
Poet and writer Harris Khalique highlighted the book’s literary depth, praising its nuanced treatment of social issues, emotional resilience and human suffering while maintaining a strong connection with classical Urdu poetic traditions.
Addressing the audience, Dr. Aqleem Fatimah explained that “Ishq Ilham Hai” explores love as a transformative force shaped by personal, social and spiritual experiences.
She also recited selected poems from the collection.
The event concluded with an interactive discussion and a vote of thanks by Sajjad Baloch.
