A commemorative photo exhibition marking the 150th birth anniversary year of Pakistan’s founder, Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, was inaugurated at the historic Rami Library in Istanbul on Tuesday, highlighting his life, leadership and enduring legacy.

ISTANBUL, Jun 16 (APP): A commemorative photo exhibition marking the 150th birth anniversary year of Pakistan’s founder, Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, was inaugurated at the historic Rami Library in Istanbul on Tuesday, highlighting his life, leadership and enduring legacy.
The exhibition, jointly organized by the Embassy of Pakistan in Ankara, Albayrak Media Group and Rami Library, brought together diplomats, academics, media representatives and members of the Pakistani diaspora in Türkiye.
Among the distinguished guests attending the inauguration ceremony were Pakistan’s Ambassador to Türkiye Dr. Yousaf Junaid, Deputy Governor of Istanbul Mehmet Sülün, Eyüpsultan Kaymakam Dr. Arslan Yurt and Rami Library Director Ali Çelik.
Featuring a collection of rare photographs, the exhibition offers visitors a visual journey through the life of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, documenting his political struggle, leadership of the Pakistan Movement and his role in the creation of Pakistan.
Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Dr. Yousaf Junaid paid tribute to Jinnah’s remarkable transformation from a distinguished barrister to one of the most influential statesmen of the twentieth century. He highlighted the Quaid-i-Azam’s unwavering commitment to constitutionalism, democratic values and principled leadership.
The ambassador said Jinnah’s belief in the rule of law, dialogue and political dignity remained relevant today and continued to inspire people around the world. He noted that the founder of Pakistan envisioned a state based on inclusive governance and equality before the law, principles reflected in his historic address to Pakistan’s Constituent Assembly on August 11, 1947.
Dr. Junaid also emphasized the enduring significance of Jinnah’s guiding motto of “Unity, Faith and Discipline,” describing it as a timeless framework for nation-building and national progress.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Governor of Istanbul Mehmet Sülün described Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah as one of the most significant political figures of the twentieth century. He appreciated the efforts of the organizing institutions in presenting Jinnah’s legacy to an international audience through the exhibition.
Renowned scholar Prof. Dr. Davut Shahbaz also addressed the ceremony, highlighting Jinnah’s contributions to constitutional politics and his vision of a modern, democratic and inclusive state. He said the founder of Pakistan’s ideas continued to hold relevance for contemporary societies.
The exhibition will remain open to the public, providing visitors with an opportunity to learn about the life, vision and achievements of Quaid-i-Azam through a rich collection of historical photographs and archival material.
The event also underscored the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and Türkiye, reflecting the shared historical bonds, cultural affinities and mutual respect that continue to strengthen relations between the two countries.
