RAWALPINDI, Jun 16 (APP): A painting exhibition featuring works by senior artists of Rawalpindi opened at the Punjab Council of the Arts on Tuesday.
Member National Assembly Tahira Aurangzeb inaugurated the exhibition. Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Dr Hassan Waqar Cheema, Assistant Commissioner Eman Zafar and former arts council director Naheed Manzoor were also present.
The exhibition showcased a range of artworks reflecting cultural heritage, natural landscapes and social themes, with participation from established artists of the city, drawing a number of artists and general public.
Speaking on the occasion, Tahira Aurangzeb said that fine arts reflects society’s cultural identity and contributes to creative development.
Dr Hassan Waqar Cheema lauded the work by local artists saying they were playing a role in promoting culture and inspiring younger generations.
Punjab Council of the Arts Director Muhammad Shakoor in his welcoming remarks said that the institution would continue to facilitate artists by providing platforms for exhibitions and engagement with the public.
