RPO vows tight security arrangements during Muharram

Commissioner Muhammad Dawood Khan and Regional Police Officer (RPO) Ghulam Mubashir Mekan on Tuesday visited Tank district to review security arrangements, assess police performance, and ensure preparedness ahead of Muharram-ul-Haram.

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Jun 16 (APP):Commissioner Muhammad Dawood Khan and Regional Police Officer (RPO) Ghulam Mubashir Mekan on Tuesday visited Tank district to review security arrangements, assess police performance, and ensure preparedness ahead of Muharram-ul-Haram.
According to a police spokesperson, the visiting officials were received by District Police Officer (DPO) Tank Abdul Samad Khan, Deputy Commissioner Tank Jamshed Khan, and senior officers of the police and district administration.
A smartly turned-out police contingent presented a guard of honour at Police Lines Tank, while the dignitaries also laid floral wreaths at the Martyrs’ Memorial and offered prayers for the fallen personnel, national security, and lasting peace.
During the visit, the Commissioner and RPO participated in a tree plantation campaign, inaugurated a clean drinking water project at Police Lines Tank, and inspected various sections of the police facility. They also received detailed briefings from relevant officers regarding operational matters and administrative affairs.
A police darbar was later held at Police Lines Tank, attended by a large number of police officers and personnel. On the occasion, DPO Abdul Samad Khan briefed the participants on the district’s overall security situation and the performance of the police force.
Addressing the gathering, RPO Ghulam Mubashir Mekan paid tribute to Tank Police for their courage, sacrifices, and professionalism in the fight against terrorism. He urged officers and personnel to prioritize their personal security, take threat alerts seriously, and adopt all necessary precautionary measures while performing their duties.
The RPO emphasized that foolproof security arrangements would be ensured during Muharram-ul-Haram to safeguard the lives and property of citizens.
He also directed senior officers to focus on the welfare of subordinate staff, address their concerns, and encourage personnel demonstrating outstanding performance.
Commissioner Muhammad Dawood Khan praised the sacrifices and services rendered by the police in the ongoing fight against terrorism. He said that the close coordination among the police, district administration, and other institutions would further strengthen law and order in the region. He also stressed strict compliance with security advisories and red alerts.
At the end, the RPO, Commissioner, and Deputy Commissioner distributed commendation certificates among police officers and personnel for their outstanding services. Gifts were also presented to the families of martyrs, Ghazis, and police athletes in recognition of their contributions and sacrifices.
