ANF arrests eight suspects, seizes narcotics worth Rs 6.4 million in six operations

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Monday conducted six operations in different parts of the country and arrested eight suspects, including a woman, and recovered 30.04 kilograms(kgs) of narcotics worth more than Rs 6.4 million.

RAWALPINDI, Jun 15 (APP):The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Monday conducted six operations in different parts of the country and arrested eight suspects, including a woman, and recovered 30.04 kilograms(kgs) of narcotics worth more than Rs 6.4 million.
According to an ANF spokesman, during an operation near a university in Attock, ANF seized 1.2 kg of hashish from a suspect.
In another operation near Dry Port Chowk in Sialkot, ANF recovered 1.050 kg of heroin and 290 ecstasy tablets weighing 147 grams from a man and a woman travelling on a motorcycle and arrested both suspects.
The arrested suspects confessed during initial interrogation to supplying drugs to students of educational institutions.
In a separate operation near Shahi Bagh in Peshawar, ANF recovered 14.4 kg of opium from a vehicle and arrested the suspect involved.
Near Sohrab Goth in Karachi, ANF confiscated 9.6 kg of hashish from a vehicle and apprehended another suspect.
Meanwhile, ANF recovered 1 kg of heroin from a motorcyclist near Ring Road in Peshawar and arrested the accused.
In another operation near Shah Kamal Colony in Lahore, ANF seized 2.65 kg of hashish from two motorcyclists and arrested both suspects.
The spokesman said cases had been registered under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act (CNSA), 1997, and further investigations were underway.
