Senate refers Pakistan Telecommunication (Amendment) Bill to concerned committee

The Upper House of the Parliament on Monday referred the Pakistan Telecommunication (Re-organization) Act, 1996 [The Pakistan Telecommunication (Re-organization) (Amendment) Bill, 2026, to the concerned committee.

ISLAMABAD, Jun 15 (APP):The Upper House of the Parliament on Monday referred the Pakistan Telecommunication (Re-organization) Act, 1996 [The Pakistan Telecommunication (Re-organization) (Amendment) Bill, 2026, to the concerned committee.
The bill was moved by Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja to amend the Pakistan Telecommunication (Re-organization) Act, 1996 [The Pakistan Telecommunication (Re-organization) (Amendment) Bill, 2026.
The house also carried the motion, moved by Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja under Rule 263 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Senate, 2012, that the requirement of Rule 120 of the said Rules regarding notice period be dispensed with in order to take into consideration at once the Bill at Order No. 3, as passed by the National Assembly.
