Citizens from various parts of the country have welcomed the Federal Budget 2026-27, describing it as a people-friendly budget and appreciating the government’s decision to expand social welfare initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable segments of society.

SARGODHA, Jun 15 (APP):Citizens from various parts of the country have welcomed the Federal Budget 2026-27, describing it as a people-friendly budget and appreciating the government’s decision to expand social welfare initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable segments of society.
Talking to APP, senior citizen Tahir Khan said the expansion of the flagship Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) would enable a greater number of deserving women to benefit from financial assistance.
He termed the government’s commitment to strengthening social protection measures a positive step towards improving the living standards of low-income families.
Tahir noted that under the proposed plan, the BISP Kafalat Programme would be expanded to cover 12 million families across the country, ensuring regular financial support for more deserving households.
Another retired officer, Najum Khan, welcomed the decision to broaden the Educational Stipends Programme, which is expected to benefit around 9.2 million children, helping them to continue their education without financial constraints.
He said the allocation of Rs838 billion for BISP in the upcoming fiscal year reflects the government’s commitment to poverty reduction and the provision of relief to economically disadvantaged families.
Other citizens also expressed hope that the enhanced funding would ensure timely disbursement of financial assistance and further improve the effectiveness of welfare programmes.
They urged the authorities to ensure transparency and facilitate easy access to these services so that all deserving beneficiaries, particularly widows and underprivileged families, could fully benefit from the initiatives.
The citizens appreciated the federal government’s focus on social welfare and poverty alleviation in the national budget, expressing confidence that the proposed measures would provide much-needed financial relief to millions of families and contribute significantly to the socio-economic well-being of vulnerable segments of society.
