Mahesh Kumar Malani appreciates federal budget

ISLAMABAD, Jun 14 (APP): Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) lawmaker in the National Assembly, Dr. Mahesh Kumar Malani, on Sunday lauded the federal government, his party leadership, and the armed forces for their role in strengthening the national economy, protecting provincial autonomy, and ensuring the defence of the country.
Participating in the budget debate in the National Assembly, he appreciated several positive measures in the federal budget, noting that the abolition of super tax and reduction in certain taxes were encouraging steps.
However, he urged the government to provide further relief to the salaried class by increasing wages and reducing the overall tax burden amid prevailing economic challenges.
He said all four provinces had shown “generosity and national spirit” by contributing around Rs1,200 to Rs1,300 billion through adjustments in their development budgets to support the federal financial plan.
He added that this approach helped protect provincial autonomy without disturbing the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award, a point also acknowledged by the Finance Minister.
The PPP MNA also praised the sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces for maintaining peace and stability, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
He said that any hostile designs against the country in the past were successfully foiled through the joint efforts of the armed forces, the government, and the people.
He said the PPP’s manifesto has always focused on job creation and public welfare, adding that employment opportunities are provided whenever the party is in government.
