Police have arrested 16 individuals allegedly involved in gambling on quail fights during a crackdown in the jurisdiction of the Chontra police station.

RAWALPINDI, Jun 14 (APP): Police have arrested 16 individuals allegedly involved in gambling on quail fights during a crackdown in the jurisdiction of the Chontra police station.
According to the police spokesperson, during the operation, police recovered cash amounting to Rs 105,000, believed to have been staked on the gambling activity, from the gamblers.
Police also seized 17 mobile phones, eight quails, and three motorcycles from the scene.
A case has been registered against the accused, who were taken into custody following the operation.
SP Saddar Anum Sher said the arrested individuals would be presented before the court with solid evidence.
She emphasized that gambling is a root cause of various social evils and that strict action would continue against those involved in such illegal activities. Further investigation is underway.
