QUETTA, Jun 13 (APP): Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Defence Production, Senator Muhammad Abdul Qadir, has lauded the federal government for presenting a balanced, realistic, and growth-oriented budget for the fiscal year 2026–27. He emphasized that the primary objective of the budget is to maintain economic stability while advancing the country’s development agenda.
In a statement issued in here, Senator Abdul Qadir noted that despite limited financial resources, debt pressures, and global economic uncertainty, the government succeeded in presenting a budget that seeks to balance fiscal discipline with development priorities. “The government deserves congratulations for achieving this under difficult circumstances,” he remarked.
Reflecting on the shortcomings of the previous fiscal year, Abdul Qadir acknowledged that several key economic and financial targets had not been fully met, including revenue collection and development expenditures. However, he pointed out that the new budget sets more realistic goals, learning from past weaknesses.
The senator expressed optimism that with improved strategies, effective administrative measures, and increased economic activity, the government would be able to achieve its targets this year. He highlighted that the budget places special emphasis on development projects, infrastructure, investment, and business growth measures, encouraging for long-term progress.
Abdul Qadir stressed that the government’s foremost priority must remain the welfare of low-income citizens. Rising inflation, unemployment, and household expenses, he said, have placed immense pressure on vulnerable communities.
“It is essential that the government focus more on social protection programs, job creation, education, healthcare, and basic facilities so that the benefits of economic growth reach the lower-income segments of society,” Abdul Qadir stressed.
He concluded that the federal budget for 2026–27 represents a positive attempt to put the economy on a path of stability and growth. Success, however, will depend on transparency, effective implementation, and keeping public welfare at the heart of policy.
