Muharram security arrangements reviewed in Murree meeting

RAWALPINDI, Jun 13 (APP): A meeting was held in the chair of Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Region, Babar Sarfraz Alpa at Jinnah Hall Murree, to review security arrangements and measures for maintaining law and order during Muharram-ul-Haram.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Murree, District Police Officer (DPO) Murree, Chief Traffic Officer Murree, senior officials of the district administration, and police officers. Members of the Peace Committee and representatives of various schools of thought also participated.
Participants held detailed discussions on maintaining peace and order during Muharram, promoting inter-sect harmony, ensuring foolproof security for religious gatherings and processions, traffic management, parking arrangements, emergency response measures, and implementation of the code of conduct.
The participants assured the district administration and police of their full cooperation in maintaining peace during the holy month.
The meeting reaffirmed a collective commitment to fostering religious tolerance, brotherhood, unity, and harmony throughout Muharram-ul-Haram.
Addressing the meeting, RPO Babar Sarfraz Alpa directed all relevant departments and institutions to ensure effective coordination and communication for the smooth execution of security and administrative arrangements. He emphasized that the protection of life and property and the provision of a peaceful environment remain the top priorities of the administration.
DPO Murree Raza Tanveer Sapra stated that Murree Police would utilize all available resources to ensure foolproof security and maintain law and order during Muharram. He added that close coordination would be maintained with the organizers of religious gatherings and processions to ensure the successful implementation of security measures.
The meeting concluded with a shared resolve to work collectively for the peaceful observance of Muharram and to uphold the spirit of religious harmony and public safety across the district.
