ADC Headquarters chairs (DERC) meeting on dengue prevention

A meeting of the District Emergency Response Committee (DERC) on dengue prevention was held in chair of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) Abdul Rehman Khan at the Deputy Commissioner Complex on Saturday.

RAWALPINDI, Jun 13 (APP): A meeting of the District Emergency Response Committee (DERC) on dengue prevention was held in chair of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) Abdul Rehman Khan at the Deputy Commissioner Complex on Saturday.
The meeting was attended by officials from the Health Department, local government institutions, Education Department, Livestock Department, Agriculture Department, Environment Department, Rescue 1122, and other relevant department. Participants reviewed in detail the ongoing anti-dengue measures being implemented across the district.
During the meeting, officials presented comprehensive briefings on the current dengue situation, identification of hotspots, indoor and outdoor surveillance activities “Dr. Lalarukh Maqbool’s New Book Awakening: Echoes of Inner Self Launched” operations, sanitation arrangements, and public awareness campaigns.
Addressing the participants, ADC Headquarters Abdul Rehman Khan directed all departments to further strengthen coordination and collaboration to ensure the effectiveness of the anti-dengue campaign. He emphasized that negligence in field activities would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He instructed the concerned departments to conduct regular monitoring of graveyards, junkyards, construction sites, tyre shops, nurseries, public and private buildings, and other sensitive locations to eliminate potential breeding grounds for dengue mosquitoes.
The ADC also stressed the need to enhance public awareness regarding preventive measures, urging citizens to play an active role in supporting the government’s efforts against dengue.
Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Rehman Khan said that dengue prevention is not solely the responsibility of government institutions but a collective responsibility of society. He directed all departments to perform their duties diligently in accordance with the Punjab Government’s guidelines and ensure daily monitoring of field activities to keep the district safe from dengue outbreaks.
