QUETTA, Jun 13 (APP): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Balochistan General Secretary and Member of the National Assembly, Jamal Shah Kakar, has hailed the federal budget for 2026–27 as people-friendly and progressive, emphasizing its focus on youth employment, business growth, and the uplift of underdeveloped regions, particularly Balochistan.
Talking to APP, Jamal Shah Kakar said the government had prioritized relief for citizens despite challenging economic conditions. He highlighted initiatives under the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, including business and agricultural loan schemes, skill development programs, and measures to strengthen the digital economy, which would directly benefit Balochistan’s youth.
Jamal Shah Kakar pointed out that under the federal development program, 148 ongoing projects in Balochistan had been allocated Rs. 206 billion in the previous fiscal year. He noted that this reflects the federal government’s commitment to the province’s progress.
For the upcoming fiscal year, he said, Rs 1.8 billion has been earmarked for the construction of 23 dams under Package IV of the 100 Dams Project in Balochistan’s Water Resources Division. The total estimated cost of the project is Rs 13.5 billion, with Rs 4.9 billion is expected to be spent by June 30, 2026.
“These measures are crucial for reducing unemployment and preparing a skilled workforce in the province,” Kakar stated. He added that the federal government had reaffirmed its resolve to improve infrastructure, enhance connectivity, and accelerate development in marginalized areas.
Jamal Kakar further said that the PML-N government is not only steering the country toward economic stability but also safeguarding the rights of smaller provinces. He welcomed the budget’s provisions for youth, farmers, entrepreneurs, and low-income groups, noting that such measures would stimulate economic activity and ensure inclusive growth.
