Lahore Ring Road Police on Saturday has taken strict action against pedestrian crossing rules and violations by motorcyclists and registered cases against several people in the last 24 hours.

LAHORE, Jun 13 (APP): Lahore Ring Road Police on Saturday has taken strict action against pedestrian crossing rules and violations by motorcyclists and registered cases against several people in the last 24 hours.
According to the police, seven people were arrested and transferred to custody for crossing the road in a dangerous manner, while cases of the same nature were registered against four more people and they have also been taken into custody for legal action.
Officials said that apart from the pedestrian crossing bridge, 290 people were issued challans for crossing the road, while 13 motorcyclists who violated traffic rules were fined Rs 5,000 each.
According to the police, a coaster and a car have been stopped for violating one-way traffic and cases have also been registered against them.
Commandant Ring Road Police Safiullah Gondal has said that to prevent accidents, consideration is being given to making the Ring Road a pedestrian crossing free zone. The protection of life and property of citizens is the top priority of the police and for this purpose, strict implementation of traffic rules will continue.
