SCCI expresses mix reaction over federal budget, welcomes Super Tax abolishment

Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has expressed mixed reaction over federal budget for the fiscal year 2026, terming the document as not business-friendly but also welcomed abolishment of Super Tax.

PESHAWAR, Jun 12 (APP): Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has expressed mixed reaction over federal budget for the fiscal year 2026, terming the document as not business-friendly but also welcomed abolishment of Super Tax.
Junaid Altaf, President of the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry while giving reaction to media persons after presentation of federal budget said overall the budget was not investment oriented but some initiatives announced by the government though were welcoming like abolishment of Super tax, which has long-standing demand of the business community and withdrawal of excise duty on anti-cancer medicines.
SCCI senior vice president Muhammad Nadeem, vice president Sabir Ahmad Bangash, former president Zahidullah Shinwari, Haji Muhammad Afzal, Malik Niaz Ahmad, Fuad Ishaq, Faiz Muhammad Faizi, former senior vice presidents Abdul Jalil Jan, Naeem Butt and Imran Khan Mohmand, former vice presidents Shuja Muhammad and Haris Mufti, WCCIP President Ms Qurtul Ain, and SCCI executive committee members Sajjad Zaheer, Aftab Iqbal, Mohammad Ashfaq, Abbas Fuad Azeem, Saifullah Khan and Adnan Nasir and Ihsanullah, Rasid Iqbal Siddiqui, Saddar Gul, Fahad Amin, SCCI Secretary General Muqtasid Ahsan, and traders and manufacturers were present during the presser.
Regarding the privatization of DISCO and loss-making national institutions, President Junaid stated it was highly encouraging initiative of the government.
