HYDERABAD, Jun 12 (APP): The IPECS Pakistan, a research and development firm, completed a three-day capacity-building training program for the staff of Sindh Emergency Rescue Service (SERS) 1122 here on Friday.
The spokesman of Rescue 1122 informed that the training’s subject was ‘Gender-Responsive and Inclusive Emergency Response and Management’.
He added that the initiative aimed to strengthen the capacity of emergency responders in delivering inclusive, accessible, and gender-responsive services to all segments of society, particularly vulnerable groups during emergencies and disasters.
According to him, the training equipped the participants with practical knowledge and skills on gender-based violence (GBV) case management, disability-inclusive emergency response, effective communication with vulnerable populations, inclusive rescue strategies, and the importance of dignity, empathy, and non-discriminatory practices in emergency operations.
He apprised that the sessions also highlighted inter-agency coordination and stakeholder engagement to ensure a more effective and inclusive emergency response system.
Fayaz Hussain Abbasi, Commissioner Hyderabad, attended the closing ceremony of the training as a chief guest.
The participants appreciated the efforts of IPECS Pakistan and SERS 1122 for promoting inclusive emergency services and emphasized the importance of ensuring that no one is left behind during emergencies and disasters.
Through this initiative, IPECS Pakistan and SERS 1122 reaffirmed their commitment to building a safer, more inclusive, and people-centered emergency response system for all communities.
