DIG Hazara vows foolproof security for Muharram, warns against miscreants during Haripur visit

DIG Hazara Nasir Mahmood Satti has said that all necessary security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram have been completed, and no one will be allowed to disturb the peaceful atmosphere during the sacred month.

ABBOTTABAD, Jun 12 (APP): DIG Hazara Nasir Mahmood Satti has said that all necessary security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram have been completed, and no one will be allowed to disturb the peaceful atmosphere during the sacred month.
He issued these remarks during his visit to Haripur, where he reviewed the route of the central procession of 8th and 9th Muharram.
During the visit, the DIG Hazara inspected the central Imambargah Mohalla Motiyaan and was given a detailed briefing by DPO Haripur Shafiullah Gandapur regarding security arrangements, procession routes, deployment of police personnel, and other administrative measures.
He also met with representatives of the Shia community, elders, and the caretaker of the central Imambargah, where matters related to law and order, security planning, and mutual cooperation were discussed.
The visit was attended by DSP Traffic Waheed Khan, DSP City Saeed Yedoon, DSP Headquarters/Sadar Muhammad Tanveer, SHO City Police Station Ijaz Ali, Incharge Special Branch Shafqat Mehmood, Incharge District Security Branch Muhammad Asif, Incharge Bomb Disposal Unit Muhammad Rafiq, and other police officials.
DIG Hazara directed that foolproof security arrangements be ensured, effective coordination among all departments be maintained, and strict checking be conducted at entry and exit points of the procession routes. He ordered the installation of walkthrough gates and CCTV cameras, the deployment of personnel on high-rise buildings along the routes, and clearance of routes by the Bomb Disposal Unit before the processions.
He further instructed the establishment of a District Facilitation Desk comprising representatives of police, district administration, health department, TMA, Rescue 1122, and other departments to ensure public assistance, emergency response, medical aid, and traffic management.
He also ordered the establishment of a Social Media Surveillance Desk to monitor online activity and identify any potential threats.
DIG Hazara emphasized that strict legal action will be taken against any elements attempting to disturb peace. He further stated that scholars, religious leaders, and citizens of all schools of thought must play their role in promoting inter-sect harmony, peace, and brotherhood during Muharram.
