FIA apprehends impersonator during recruitment drive in Kohat; Police arrest six in separate search operation

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested an impersonator on Friday for attempting to appear in a physical recruitment test in place of another candidate at the Sports Complex, Kohat.

KOHAT, Jun 12 (APP): The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested an impersonator on Friday for attempting to appear in a physical recruitment test in place of another candidate at the Sports Complex, Kohat.
According to Assistant Director FIA, Amjad Ali, the suspect, identified as Younis Khan was caught during the scrutiny process. The suspect was in possession of a roll number slip and the original National Identity Card (NIC) belonging to the actual candidate, Naveed Khan.
During the verification process, FIA officials noted a discrepancy between the suspect’s appearance and the photograph on the official documents. Upon further questioning, the accused confessed to appearing as a proxy candidate for his friend, Naveed Khan. Subsequent biometric verification conducted through NADRA further confirmed the identity fraud.
Following the incident, the accused was handed over to the Jungle Khel Police Station for further legal proceedings.
In a separate development, the Kohat district police launched a targeted “Search and Strike” operation against criminal elements and proclaimed offenders, acting on the special directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Shahbaz Alahi.
Led by SHO City Police Station, Saifullah Khan, the operation resulted in the arrest of six individuals identified as Shamimullah, Usman, Basit, Gul Mohammad, Zakir, and Shah Mahmood. Police recovered one Kalashnikov and four pistols from the possession of the suspects.
Among those arrested, Shah Mahmood was a wanted proclaimed offender in a narcotics case. All suspects have been shifted to the City Police Station for further investigation.
