PM Shehbaz lauds MQM-P’s constructive role, discusses Budget, political situation

ISLAMABAD, Jun 12 (APP):Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday appreciated MQM-P’s role as a key ally in the ruling coalition, saying the party had played a positive and constructive role in promoting national development, economic stability and public welfare.
During a meeting with a delegation of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) here at the Prime Minister’s Office, the prime minister reaffirmed the importance of coalition partners in advancing the government’s agenda of economic stability, development and public welfare, a Prime Minister’s Office news release said.
The MQM-P delegation was led by the party’s Convener and Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui. Federal Minister for National Health Services Syed Mustafa Kamal and Members of the National Assembly Farooq Sattar, Aminul Haque and Javed Hanif were also part of the delegation, a Prime Minister’s Office news release said.
“MQM-P is an important coalition partner of the government, and its positive and constructive contribution towards achieving the agenda of national development, economic stability and public welfare is commendable,” the prime minister said.
He expressed confidence that the spirit of cooperation between the government and its coalition partners would continue in the future in the larger national interest and for the service of the people.
The meeting included a detailed discussion on the federal budget for the fiscal year 2026-27, with both sides exchanging views on economic priorities and measures aimed at sustaining growth and providing relief to the public.
The participants also reviewed the country’s overall political situation and discussed matters of mutual interest.
Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah were also present during the meeting.
