PESHAWAR, Jun 12 (APP):In a tragic accident near People Chowk in Katlang on the Swat Expressway, two people, including a motorway police officer and a one-and-a-half-year-old girl, lost their lives after an out-of-control vehicle rammed into officials during a speed-checking operation.
According to rescue sources on Friday, Sub-Inspector Nizamuddin of the Motorway Police and the toddler died at the scene. Four other people, including a woman, sustained serious injuries in the incident.
Motorway Police officials stated that the accident occurred while officers were conducting speed monitoring and observation duties. A speeding vehicle reportedly lost control and crashed into the police personnel.
Among the injured are two bank employees, a police driver, and a woman. All the injured were immediately shifted to Mardan Medical Complex for medical treatment, where their condition is reported to be critical.
Motorway Police SP Ahsan Ali Khan confirmed that an investigation into the incident has been launched to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the accident.
