PESHAWAR, Jun 11 (APP): Three women drowned in the River Swat near Pul Choki Fishing Hut area in Malakand on Thursday, prompting an emergency rescue operation by Rescue 1122.
According to Rescue 1122 Malakand, water rescue and medical teams rushed to the scene immediately after receiving information about the incident.
One woman was pulled out of the river by local residents with assistance from Rescue 1122 personnel. She was found unconscious and was provided first aid before being shifted to DHQ Hospital for medical treatment.
The body of the second woman was recovered from the Badwan Tarai area and transported to the hospital through a Rescue 1122 ambulance.
Officials said all three women belonged to the same family and were residents of Mardan district.
Rescue 1122 continued its search operation to locate the third missing woman. Teams from Civil Defence, Nizamuddin Rescue Team and Alkhidmat Foundation volunteers are also participating in the operation.
District Emergency Officer Nasir Khan remained present at the site and supervised the ongoing rescue and search activities.
