KARACHI, Jun 11 (APP): Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Karachi Azad Khan inaugurated a tree plantation drive at the Shahid Hayat Police Training College (PTC), Saeedabad, by planting a sapling as part of efforts to promote environmental sustainability in the city.
According to a Karachi Police spokesperson on Thursday, Chief Community Policing Karachi Murad Soni, Principal Shahid Hayat Police Training College Adeel Chandio, Sindh Assembly member Asif Musa and other police officers attended the ceremony.
The spokesperson said the initiative was the fifth project undertaken by Community Policing Karachi (CPK) under its Green Karachi campaign. As part of the drive, 500 saplings will be planted at the Police Training College, while similar plantation campaigns will continue across the city to support environmental protection and promote a greener Karachi.
Speaking on the occasion, the Additional IGP Karachi appreciated the efforts of Community Policing Karachi, Murad Soni and his team. He said that alongside the installation of CCTV cameras for public safety, environment-friendly initiatives were also the need of the hour.
He described the plantation campaign as a commendable initiative and expressed his best wishes for its success.
