CPEC-2.0 to create new JVs in agriculture, industry, mining

LAHORE, Jun 10 (APP): China Pakistan Economic Corridor-2.0 (CPEC) would create plenty of joint ventures between Pakistan and China in the fields of Agriculture, Industry and Mining.
Talking to media here Wednesday, PCJCCI Commercial Ambassador Adeel Munawar appreciated Beijing’s Commitment for upgrading the CPEC to its 2.0 version. He expressed deep gratitude to the Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong for reaffirming Beijing’s commitment to deepening strategic cooperation with Pakistan and assured the full support of the PCJCCI in the implementation of CPEC-2.0 projects.
He acknowledged that the Corridor had already brought over USD 25.9 billion in direct investment to Pakistan, created more than 260,000 jobs, added over 8,000 megawatts of power generation capacity and significantly improved the country’s infrastructure.
He thanked the Chinese Embassy for expediting the work on major joint projects, including the Karakoram Highway Phase-II realignment, while expanding “small yet beautiful” welfare initiatives aimed at improving education and water facilities, particularly in Balochistan.
He expressed satisfaction over Chinese Ambassador’s emphasis on multilateralism and closer coordination between the two countries on regional and international issues, saying China and Pakistan would continue to support reforms in global governance.
He highlighted that Pakistan offers the shortest and most efficient trade route for China and the Central Asian Republics through Gwadar Port, strengthening regional connectivity and trade integration. He observed that Pakistan’s Indus Delta region holds significant untapped potential in terms of hydrocarbon reserves, presenting promising opportunities for future investment and energy security.
