NUML hosts national conference on recent developments in Mathematics

ISLAMABAD, Jun 10 (APP):The Department of Mathematics at NUML successfully organized the National Conference on Recent Developments in Mathematics (NCRDM 2026) under the theme “Computational Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence Frontiers.”
The conference brought together distinguished scholars, researchers, and academicians from across Pakistan and abroad to discuss recent advancements and emerging trends in Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and interdisciplinary scientific research.
The conference featured keynote addresses by renowned experts, including Prof. Dr Asghar Qadir of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences, Dr Asjad Shahzad from NUST, Dr Tahir Mahmood from the International Islamic University Islamabad, Prof. Dr Asif Hanif from Sakarya University, Turkiye, and Dr Zeeshan Asghar from Prince Sultan University, Saudi Arabia.
Their insightful presentations highlighted contemporary developments, challenges, and opportunities in Computational Mathematics and AI, while emphasizing the growing significance of mathematical sciences in addressing complex scientific and technological problems.
The event was graced by Prof. Dr Muhammad Aftab Rafiq, as the Chief Guest. In his address, he underscored the enduring importance of Mathematics as a foundational discipline that continues to drive scientific innovation and technological advancement across all eras. He appreciated the efforts of the Department of Mathematics in providing a platform for scholarly dialogue and knowledge exchange.
The conference attracted participation from a wide range of national and international institutions, including Samarkand International University of Technology (Uzbekistan), The University of Waikato (New Zealand), Chuxiong Normal University (China), Quaid-i-Azam University, International Islamic University Islamabad, National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), FAST-NUCES, Fatima Jinnah Women University, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, University of Gujrat, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, The University of Lahore, Abdul Wali Khan University, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and NUML.
A total of 37 participants from various universities actively engaged in academic discussions, research presentations, and scholarly interactions, fostering collaboration and the exchange of innovative ideas.
The conference concluded on a highly successful note, reaffirming NUML’s commitment to promoting quality research, strengthening academic linkages, and exploring emerging frontiers in Computational Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence.
