Crime drops sharply as police response, technology-driven policing yield results

FAISALABAD, Jun 10 (APP): Faisalabad has witnessed a significant decline in crime-related emergency calls which reflected the impact of proactive policing, modern technology and quick law enforcement response.
Police spokesman said here on Wednesday that the official figures showed a reduction in helpline complaints during the first week of June 2026 compared to the corresponding period last year.
He said that law & order situation in the city has improved considerably due to effective leadership, targeted crackdowns against criminal elements and the adoption of modern policing techniques.
He said that continuous intelligence-based operations and enhanced patrolling have played a major role in curbing criminal activities across the district.
Giving some statistics, he said that the Rescue Helpline received only 46 calls on the last day of the first week of June this year, compared to 80 calls reported on the same day last year, registering a decline of 34 calls in a single day.
He described the reduction as a positive indicator of improved public safety and effective preventive measures.
Similarly, during the first week of June 2026, the total number of helpline calls dropped from 710 last year to 307 this year which showed a decrease of 403 calls.
He said that the substantial reduction reflects a notable decline in crime incidents and demonstrates the effectiveness of ongoing police efforts to maintain peace and order.
He attributed the encouraging trend to enhanced field patrolling, prompt response to emergency situations, strict action against habitual offenders and the increased use of modern technology in crime prevention and monitoring.
He said that firm legal action against those elements who are making false emergency calls has also contributed to improve the efficiency of the emergency response system.
The police have continued indiscriminate operations against criminals, proclaimed offenders and anti-social elements in various parts of the district, he added.
The campaign would continue with greater intensity to further reduce crime and strengthen public confidence in law enforcement institutions, he added.
