Minister Butt welcomes Style Industries’ pledge to hire 1,000 PWDs

LAHORE, Jun 10 (APP): In a major step towards advancing Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision of empowering persons with disabilities (PWDs), promoting their economic independence and ensuring their meaningful participation in society, Style Industries has announced 1,000 employment opportunities for PWDs.
The announcement was made during a meeting with Punjab Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mal Sohail Shaukat Butt, here on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by Director General Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mal Punjab Dr. Shehnshah Faisal Azeem, Director Programs Muzammil Yar and other concerned officials.
The participants held detailed discussions on the welfare of persons with disabilities, social inclusion, skills development and the expansion of employment opportunities across the province.
During the meeting, Style Industries announced that 1,000 jobs would be offered to persons with disabilities in different phases, enabling them to achieve economic self-reliance and contribute more effectively to society.
Welcoming the initiative, Sohail Shaukat Butt said Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif was committed to providing equal opportunities and a dignified future for persons with disabilities. He stressed that the active participation of the private sector was essential for integrating PWDs into the mainstream of national development.
The minister termed the announcement by Style Industries a commendable and exemplary initiative and expressed the hope that other industrial and commercial organizations would follow suit by creating more employment opportunities for persons with disabilities.
He said the Punjab government was pursuing a comprehensive agenda focused on the welfare, education, skills enhancement and employment of persons with disabilities to ensure their full participation in the province’s socio-economic development.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed their commitment to continued collaboration for the welfare, social inclusion, skills development and employment of persons with disabilities.
