Senate unanimously passes five bills

ISLAMABAD, Jun 10 (APP):The upper house of Parliament on Wednesday unanimously passed five bills during its sitting, reflecting broad consensus among lawmakers on key legislative matters.
The bills were taken up for consideration and passage after detailed deliberations in the House. Members from across the political spectrum supported the proposed legislation, leading to their unanimous approval in the house chaired by Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani.
The details and objectives of the bills were presented before the House by the respective movers, while senators also shared their views and concerns during the proceedings before the legislation was adopted unanimously.
As per details, the Senate unanimously passed the Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar’s bill to amend the Motion Pictures Ordinance, 1979 [The Motion Pictures (Amendment) Bill, 2024].
Similarly, the Senate also passed the bill moved by Senator Rana Sana Ullah Khan, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Inter-Provincial Coordination, to amend the Travel Agencies Act, 1976 to the extent of the Islamabad Capital Territory [The Travel Agencies (Amendment) Bill, 2026].
The house also passed the bill moved by Senator Rana Sanauulah Khan, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Inter-Provincial Coordination, to amend the Pakistan Tourist Guides Act, 1976 to the extent of the Islamabad Capital Territory [The Pakistan Tourist Guides (Amendment) Bill, 2026].
Another bill which was passed unanimously by the Senate was moved by Senator Rana Sana Ullah Khan, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Inter-Provincial Coordination, to amend the Pakistan Hotels and Restaurants Act, 1976 to the extent of the Islamabad Capital Territory [The Pakistan Hotels and Restaurants (Amendment) Bill, 2026].
The house also passed the bill moved by Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister for Defence, to repeal the Pakistan International Airlines Corporation (Conversion) Act, 2016 [The Pakistan International Airlines Corporation (Conversion) (Repeal) Bill, 2026].
