RAWALPINDI, Jun 09 (APP):Superintendent of Police SP Saddar Anum Sher reviewed security and administrative arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram during a meeting at Chontra Police Station here on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by SHOs of Chontra and Chakri police stations, caretakers of Imambargahs, and organizers of Muharram processions.
During the meeting, participants were briefed on the security measures being implemented to ensure peaceful observance of Muharram.
SP Saddar Anum Sher directed that all individuals entering religious gatherings and processions would be allowed entry only after passing through walk-through gates and undergoing thorough body searches.

She emphasized that all majalis and processions must strictly adhere to the prescribed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including following designated routes and observing scheduled timings for commencement and conclusion.
The implementation of the Punjab Government’s code of conduct and Muharram SOPs will be ensured in all circumstances, she added.
The organizers of majalis and processions assured the police and administration of their full cooperation and commitment to complying with all security guidelines.
Following the meeting, SP Saddar Anum Sher visited and inspected the procession route in the Chontra area.
SHO Chontra and other police officers accompanied her during the visit. She reviewed security arrangements along the route and issued necessary instructions to officers on duty.
Speaking on the occasion, SP Saddar Anum Sher said that comprehensive measures are being taken to promote inter-sect harmony, religious tolerance, and peaceful coexistence during Muharram-ul-Haram. She stated that foolproof security arrangements are being made for all processions and religious gatherings.
She further said that, in line with the vision of Punjab Inspector General of Police and the directives of CPO Rawalpindi Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani, all efforts are being focused on maintaining law and order and ensuring a peaceful environment throughout Muharram.
