SARGODHA, Jun 09 (APP): Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 Khushab on Tuesday conducted a comprehensive flood mock exercise and emergency response training drill at River Jhelum to assess preparedness for potential flood and emergency situations.
According to the spokesperson for Rescue 1122 here, Deputy Commissioner Khushab, Dr Jahanzeb Hussain Laber, attended the exercise as the chief guest and reviewed the operational readiness of Rescue 1122 and other relevant departments to deal with flood emergencies and natural disasters.
During a visit to the emergency preparedness stalls, District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122, Ali Hussain, briefed the DC on contingency plans, available resources, and preparedness measures for handling possible flood situations and other emergencies during 2026.
The mock exercise included practical demonstrations of rescue operations, evacuation procedures, and emergency response techniques aimed at enhancing coordination among various departments during disaster situations.
Expressing satisfaction over the preparedness and performance of Rescue 1122, Dr Jahanzeb Hussain Laber emphasized the importance of maintaining a high level of readiness.
He directed all concerned departments to remain alert and fully prepared to respond to any flood-related or emergency situation. He further instructed that all machinery, equipment, and emergency resources should remain fully functional at all times and stressed the need for close coordination among departments to ensure an effective response during emergencies.
The exercise was organized as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen disaster management capabilities and minimize risks associated with potential flooding in the district.
