KP govt to auction Swat Hotel on June 22 to boost tourism

PESHAWAR, Jun 09 (APP): Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tourism and Culture, Malik Adil Iqbal, has said that the provincial government is undertaking comprehensive measures to promote tourism and attract investment across the province, particularly in the scenic Swat Valley.
Speaking at a pre-bid meeting regarding the auction of Swat Hotel (formerly Serena Hotel), he said the hotel would be auctioned on June 22 as part of the government’s efforts to encourage private-sector participation and enhance tourism infrastructure.
The meeting witnessed strong participation from both local and international investors, who expressed keen interest in the auction process and investment opportunities in the tourism sector.
Malik Adil Iqbal said Swat possesses immense potential for tourism and investment due to its natural beauty, pleasant climate, and growing visitor influx.
He said that the government is committed to creating a transparent and investor-friendly environment to facilitate sustainable economic growth and tourism development.
He said the auction of the hotel would open new avenues for investment, generate employment opportunities, and contribute to the socio-economic development of the region.
The Special Assistant reiterated the government’s resolve to promote public-private partnerships and ensure transparency in all investment-related initiatives. He expressed confidence that enhanced investment in tourism infrastructure would further strengthen Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s position as a leading tourist destination in the country.
He also welcomed the interest shown by investors and assured them of the government’s full support in facilitating tourism-related projects across the province.
