Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Peshawar, on Tuesday here conducted a destruction ceremony at Azakhel, Nowshera, for the disposal of confiscated goods seized during various anti-smuggling operations carried out by Pakistan Customs.
Confiscated goods worth Rs439mn destroyed at Azakhel: Customs

NOWSHERA, Jun 09 (APP):Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Peshawar, on Tuesday here conducted a destruction ceremony at Azakhel, Nowshera, for the disposal of confiscated goods seized during various anti-smuggling operations.
The destruction process was undertaken in accordance with the relevant legal provisions and prescribed procedures, ensuring transparency and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
A total of 72 lots of seized goods having an aggregate market value of approximately Rs 439 million were destroyed.
The goods included 9,197,339 sleeves of cigarettes market valued at Rs 360 million, 12,234 kilograms of betel nuts valued at Rs 24 million, 3,000 kilograms of China salt valued at Rs 5 million, as well as other miscellaneous goods including medicines, firecrackers, toiletries and tobacco products valued at approximately Rs 50 million.
The destruction of these goods reflects Pakistan Customs’ continued commitment to combating smuggling, protecting legitimate trade, and safeguarding national revenue.
It also underscores the resolve of Pakistan Customs to prevent the circulation of illicit and harmful goods that pose risks to public health, safety, and societal well-being, while ensuring strict enforcement of customs laws across the country.
Officials of different departments, civil society members and journalists were also present at the occasion.
