RAWALPINDI, Jun 9 (APP):Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Professor Ahsan Iqbal on Tuesday said Muslims could regain their lost glory and achieve success by sincerely following the teachings of the Holy Quran and Sunnah in every sphere of life.
Addressing the annual Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) and Urs gathering here at Eidgah Shrine, the minister said it was a great honour for him to participate in the spiritually significant event.
He said Allah Almighty had blessed Muslims by making them followers of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the most beloved personality in the universe and the source of guidance for humanity.
Highlighting the unparalleled status of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), Ahsan Iqbal said there could never be any comparison between the Creator and His creation, yet Allah Almighty Himself commanded believers to send blessings upon the Prophet (PBUH), reflecting the Holy Prophet’s exalted rank and honour.
The minister said the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was born into an Arabian society marked by tribal conflicts, hostility and injustice, but through his teachings and exemplary character, he transformed it into a model society based on unity, justice, compassion and mutual respect.
He said tribes once engaged in bloodshed became a united nation within a few years, while women, who had previously been denied basic rights and dignity, were granted honour and respect under the teachings of Islam.
Ahsan Iqbal said forgiveness replaced revenge as a source of pride and social prestige, bringing harmony and stability to society. He termed this transformation one of the greatest miracles of the Prophet’s (PBUH) mission.
He said the remarkable change occurred because the companions of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) not only professed their love for him but also implemented every divine command and Prophetic teaching in their daily lives.
The minister said their unwavering commitment to faith and action enabled a small group of believers to achieve extraordinary success despite overwhelming challenges, citing the early victories of Muslims as evidence of the power of steadfast adherence to Islamic principles.
He regretted that while Muslims today claimed to love Allah Almighty and His Messenger (PBUH), many had distanced themselves from the practical implementation of the teachings of the Holy Quran and Sunnah.
Ahsan Iqbal urged Muslims to adopt Islamic values in their personal and professional lives, saying that honest traders, dedicated teachers, responsible public servants and compassionate citizens could collectively build a prosperous and peaceful society.
“If we make the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah the foundation of our lives and promote love, honesty and service to humanity, we will achieve the greatness and success promised by Allah Almighty,” he remarked.
