ISLAMABAD, Jun 09 (APP): Director General (DG) Safe City and DIG Traffic Muhammad Haroon Joiya held a meeting with owners of online taxi companies and drivers to review implementation of the Online Taxi Verification App and discuss measures aimed at enhancing passenger safety in the federal capital.

An official told APP on Tuesday that Assistant Director Safe City Abbas Mehdi also attended the meeting, which focused on strengthening monitoring mechanisms and improving security standards in the ride-hailing sector.

Joiya directed online taxi companies to ensure integration of all drivers with the verification application so that a comprehensive database could be developed and effective monitoring of ride-hailing services could be ensured.
The DG emphasized that linking drivers with the application would help improve oversight of drivers and passengers and enhance public safety through the use of modern technology.
He urged representatives of online taxi companies to extend full cooperation in implementing the initiative and ensuring maximum registration of drivers on the platform.
