Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, on Monday said that Eidgah Sharif is not merely a spiritual center but a historic institution dedicated to the service of Islam, societal reform, and the moral and spiritual guidance of humanity.

RAWALPINDI, Jun 08 (APP): Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, on Monday said that Eidgah Sharif is not merely a spiritual center but a historic institution dedicated to the service of Islam, societal reform, and the moral and spiritual guidance of humanity.
Addressing a distinguished gathering of devotees, religious scholars, spiritual leaders, and esteemed guests at the annual Urs ceremony held at Eidgah Sharif, Rawalpindi, he said that for nearly one and a half centuries, the institution has continued to play a significant role in promoting the teachings and values of Islam.
The Chairman of the Senate paid rich tribute to the spiritual and religious contributions of the founder of Eidgah Sharif, Sheikh-ul-Mashaikh Khawaja Khawajgan Hazrat Khawaja Hafiz Abdul Karim (RA), his successors Hazrat Hafiz Abdul Rahman (RA), Hazrat Khawaja Hafiz Habib-ur-Rehman (RA), the current Sajjada Nasheen Hazrat Pir Muhammad Naqeeb ur Rehman Damat Barakatuhum, and his successor Hazrat Pir Muhammad Hassan Haseeb ur Rehman Damat Barakatuhum.
He observed that millions of followers across the world remain associated with the Silsila-e-Aliya Siddiqia Naqshbandia and acknowledged that, beyond Pakistan, spiritual leaders affiliated with Eidgah Sharif continue to promote Islamic teachings across the United Kingdom, the United States, Europe, and Gulf countries.
He remarked that these outreach and preaching efforts have guided many individuals toward Islam and stand as a reflection of the institution’s effective spiritual and social services.
The Chairman of the Senate emphasized that Awliya-e-Kiram demonstrated through their lives that the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) transcend geographical boundaries and remain an eternal message for all humanity.
He added that these revered personalities promoted compassion, tolerance, service to humanity, and peaceful coexistence.
He further stated that Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) teaches that power should serve justice rather than domination; disagreement should be addressed through dialogue rather than hostility; and progress should be measured not solely by economic growth but by human dignity and collective welfare.
He described the Constitution of the State of Madinah as a practical embodiment of these principles, laying the foundation for a society based on justice, equality, religious freedom, protection of minorities, and collective responsibility.
Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani added that Pakistan’s contemporary challenges—including economic pressures, social disparities, and unemployment—can also be effectively addressed through the principles embodied in Seerat-e-Tayyiba, including transparency, integrity, justice, hard work, and equitable distribution of resources.
Referring to prevailing global conditions, the Chairman of the Senate noted that humanity today faces wars, humanitarian crises, widening inequalities, religious and ethnic intolerance, forced displacement, poverty, and climate-related challenges. In such circumstances, he said, Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) offers a comprehensive roadmap for human survival, sustainable peace, and global harmony.
The Chairman of the Senate further remarked that Pakistan is the land of Awliya-e-Kiram and emphasized the national responsibility to instill among younger generations the values of tolerance, moderation, respect for humanity, and service to society in order to build a strong, progressive, and morally grounded nation.
He urged the participants to incorporate the universal message of Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) into their individual and collective lives by promoting love over hatred, unity over division, and hope over despair.
The Chairman Senate prayed that Allah Almighty grant all the ability to illuminate their lives through the light of Seerat-e-Tayyiba, seek guidance from the teachings of Awliya-e-Kiram, and contribute towards building a society founded on justice, compassion, brotherhood, and the highest ideals of humanity.
