QUETTA, Jun 08 (APP): Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Monday said that collective and effective measures were indispensable to deal with the effects of marine pollution and climate change.
In his message on World Oceans Day, he said that conservation of marine resources was a shared responsibility of all of us.
The chief minister said that Balochistan was a province with a coastline of about 770 kilometers, which was of exceptional importance for the country’s economy and trade.
He maintained that the coastal areas of Balochistan, including Gwadar, provided immense opportunities for the promotion of blue economy, fishing and tourism adding that the Balochistan government is taking practical steps for the protection of the coastal environment and the welfare of the fishing community.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti stated that conservation of the oceans was in fact the protection of the human future and a safe environment for future generations.
