RIMS organises job fair for industry-academia linkage

The Riphah Institute of Media Sciences (RIMS), Riphah International University, organised a Job Fair aimed at connecting students and graduates with industry professionals and providing them with opportunities for internships and employment.

ISLAMABAD, Jun 07 (APP): The Riphah Institute of Media Sciences (RIMS), Riphah International University, organised a Job Fair aimed at connecting students and graduates with industry professionals and providing them with opportunities for internships and employment.
The event brought together representatives of leading media, communication, gaming and information technology organisations under one roof, enabling students to interact directly with prospective employers.
Several students were shortlisted for internships, while several others secured employment opportunities during the fair.
Students expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing it as a valuable platform for launching their professional careers.
“We are glad to see that our department is organising such an activity, which has encouraged us very much. The students, on completion of their studies, face difficulties in getting jobs. But such a fair has helped us students a great deal,” said Muhammad Naveel, a student participating in the event.
Danish Raja, who was selected by a television channel for a job opportunity, said the fair had opened new avenues for his career.
“I have been invited by the TV channel to visit their office and start a paid internship, which will later convert into a job. I am grateful to the university and our department for this initiative of organising a job fair,” he said.
Head of the Department of Riphah Institute of Media Sciences, Dr Muhammad Riaz, said the fair was organised to bridge the gap between academia and industry and to facilitate students in their transition from education to professional life.
“The fair was aimed at bridging the gap between academia and industry. I believe that more such events can be held in future to facilitate our students,” he said.
Vice-Chancellor of Riphah International University, Prof Dr Anis Ahmad, and Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Prof Dr Abdulhamit Birisik, also visited the fair. They interacted with students and representatives of participating organisations and appreciated the efforts of the organisers for creating employment and internship opportunities for young graduates.
The participants described the event as a successful initiative that strengthened collaboration between academia and industry and provided students with practical pathways to professional careers.
