ISLAMABAD, Jun 7 (APP):Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Caretaker Information Minister Ghulam Abbas Sunday lauded voters’ participation in the elections and said peaceful polling reflected the region’s commitment to democracy and development.
While speaking to a local media outlet, Ghulam Abbas said that extensive security arrangements had been made for the Gilgit-Baltistan elections, with police, Rangers, Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts and Pakistan Army personnel deployed across the region to ensure the peaceful and secure conduct of the polling process.
He noted that polling was underway and that a significant number of voters were turning out to cast their ballots, demonstrating strong public participation in the democratic process.
The caretaker minister said that both the government and the people were committed to maintaining peace and order throughout the election process, helping ensure smooth and transparent polling.
Abbas urged citizens to exercise their constitutional right by voting and prayed for the continued development, stability and prosperity of Gilgit-Baltistan.
