ISLAMABAD, Jun 7 (APP):Gilgit-Baltistan Interior Minister Sajid Ali Baig on Sunday said that strong political awareness is being witnessed among voters as polling continues across the region in the ongoing GB elections, adding that people are turning out in increasing numbers to exercise their democratic right.
              While speaking in an exclusive conversation with a local media outlet, the minister said that peaceful polling is underway across the region, adding that enhanced political awareness among voters is clearly reflected in the ongoing elections.
           He said he was personally visiting various polling stations, where the overall environment remains peaceful.
           However, he noted that in some areas, there are public demands for further deployment of police forces to ensure smooth and secure polling.
       Sajjid Ali added that minor irregularities observed at certain locations are being addressed promptly by the concerned authorities.
       The minister further said that a large number of people are coming out to cast their votes, demonstrating strong political awareness.
          He appreciated the public for cooperating with the caretaker government and security agencies, expressing hope that this coordination will continue until the completion of the electoral process.
          Responding to a query, the minister said that this was his fourth visit to a polling station during the ongoing election day, as he continued to review the security and polling arrangements on the ground.
