FAISALABAD, Jun 06 (APP): State Minister for Interior Senator Talal Chaudhry said on Saturday that the ruling coalition remained fully united and would not only secure smooth passage of the upcoming federal budget but also continue its partnership throughout the constitutional tenure of the National Assembly while all allied parties are being taken on board in every major national decision, legislation and constitutional amendment.
Talking to media persons after a meeting with local traders, he dismissed speculation regarding differences within the coalition and expressed confidence that the federal budget would be approved with the complete support of allied parties.
He said that various reports and political narratives were circulating at the national level regarding the budget, but the government and its coalition partners stood firmly together.
He said that although coalition parties might have their own concerns, viewpoints and priorities, yet such differences were a normal part of the democratic process and would be addressed through consultation and consensus.
The state minister said that the government believed in inclusive decision-making and would continue engaging all coalition partners on matters of national importance.
Whether it involved the federal budget, constitutional amendments or significant legislation, the government’s policy was to move forward through broad-based consultation and cooperation, he added.
Talal Chaudhary said that efforts would also be made to involve other political stakeholders in key national matters to promote wider political consensus in the larger national interest.
Responding to a question regarding the demand for granting district status to Jaranwala, he said that Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz had allocated unprecedented development funds for this city during the first two years of her tenure.
He said that few cities in Punjab had received development grants comparable to those provided for Jaranwala, adding that substantial investments had been made to improve road infrastructure, civic amenities and public facilities in the area.
The state minister said that commitments made to the people of Jaranwala by Mian Nawaz Sharif were being fulfilled in a phased manner.
He added that work on major development initiatives was completed while sewerage and urban development schemes were also nearing completion.
Expressing optimism about the region’s future, Talal Chaudhary said that further commitments related to Jaranwala’s development and administrative needs would also be fulfilled to ensure that residents benefited from modern infrastructure and improved civic services.
