Commissioner directs for improved inter-departmental coordination to expedite projects competition

RAWALPINDI, Jun 06 (APP):Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Engineer Aamir Khattak directed the concerned departments to further improve coordination to expedite remaining work and ensure timely completion of various projects.
He was visiting the ongoing WASA work at Holy Family Hospital on Saturday. He also reviewed beautification projects in Raja Bazaar and Commercial Market , directing authorities to ensure timely completion with quality standards.
Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Hassan Waqar Cheema, officials of Municipal Corporation, RDA, WASA, IESCO, Sui Gas and other departments were present during the visit.
The Commissioner inspected the progress on different components of the projects and directed that work at Holy Family Hospital be completed on a priority basis to minimize inconvenience for patients. He said that all development work aimed at providing a clean and modern business environment should be completed within the stipulated time frame without compromising on quality.
Officials from relevant departments briefed that the Raja Bazaar beautification project had reached 82 percent completion, including 76 percent civil work, 96 percent IESCO line shifting, 99 percent Sui Gas line shifting, 98 percent PTCL line shifting and 99 percent WASA work.
Similarly, the Commercial Market beautification project was reported to be 77 percent complete, with 63 percent civil work, 99 percent IESCO line shifting and 100 percent PTCL line shifting completed.
The Commissioner said that completion of these projects would not only enhance the city’s beauty but also promote business activities and provide better facilities to citizens. Aamir Khattak further directed that footpaths, drainage systems, street furniture, signage, landscaping and sanitation work be completed in line with high standards. He stressed the need for effective traffic management and safety measures during construction activities to minimise inconvenience to the public.
