Section 144 imposed in Layyah for Muharram

LAYYAH, Jun 06 (APP):Deputy Commissioner(DC),Asif Ali Dogar on Saturday imposed Section-144 across the district to maintain law and order during Muharram-ul-Haram.
According to a notification issued by the district administration, the restrictions will remain in force from the 1st to the 13th of Muharram.
The order prohibits the establishment of unauthorized sabeels,processions and religious gatherings,as well as provocative wall chalking and the dissemination of sectarian or hate-based material.
The notification also bans standing on rooftops along procession routes,constructing bunkers and stockpiling stones, bricks or bottles.
As part of enhanced security measures, movement through river crossing points will remain prohibited from the 8th to the 10th of Muharram.
Bathing in rivers,canals,streams and swimming pools has also been restricted during the period.
Meanwhile,pillion riding on motorcycles will be banned on the 9th and 10th of Muharram,except for women, senior citizens, Rescue 1122 personnel and law enforcement officials.
District authorities said the measures have been taken to ensure public safety and maintain peace during the observance of Muharram.The Section-144 order has come into immediate effect.
