ANF arrests 10 suspects, seizes over 46kg of drugs in nationwide operations

RAWALPINDI, Jun 06 (APP):The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF)on Saturday conducted seven operations around educational institutions and in various cities and arrested 10 suspects, seizing 46.03 kilograms(kgs) of narcotics worth more than Rs 6.2 million.
According to the ANF spokesperson, in an operation, ANF personnel recovered 14.4 kg of hashish from two women and a man near the Sangjani Toll Plaza and arrested all three suspects.
In a separate oeration near a bus terminal in Rawalpindi, authorities seized 3.6 kg of hashish from two suspects, who were taken into custody.
Another raid near a university in Islamabad led to the recovery of 1.2 kg of hashish from a suspect.
In Sialkot, ANF recovered 9.6 kg of hashish, 4 kg of methamphetamine (ice), 4.2 kg of opium, 300 grams of heroin and 150 ecstasy tablets weighing 84 grams from a motorcyclist near a school. The suspect was arrested and, during initial interrogation, confessed to supplying drugs to students of educational institutions, the spokesman said.
In an international drug interdiction operation at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, ANF officials recovered 1.05 kg of methamphetamine from the luggage of a passenger travelling to Bahrain and arrested the accused.
Meanwhile, in an inter-provincial operation near Sher Shah Toll Plaza in Multan, ANF seized 4 kg of methamphetamine from a vehicle and apprehended one suspect.
In a separate domestic operation near Pabbi in Nowshera district, authorities recovered 3.6 kg of hashish from a rickshaw and arrested the individual involved.
The spokesman said cases had been registered against all suspects under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations were underway.
