PESCO intensifies action against electricity theft in DIKhan

Dera Ismail Khan, Jun 05 (APP): The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) conducted a crackdown against electricity theft in Dera Ismail Khan, removing multiple illegal power connections during an operation in Gilani Town, officials said on Friday.
The operation was carried out in Street No. 7 of Gilani Town under the directives of Superintending Engineer PESCO Dera Circle Engineer Hizbullah Khan Mehsud. The drive was supervised by XEN City Division Engineer Imran Gundapur and led by SDO City-II Muhammad Ali.
According to PESCO officials, several unauthorized direct connections (kundas) were detected and removed on the spot during the operation. Feeder In-charge Asif Bhutta monitored the enforcement activity.
Speaking on the occasion, SDO Muhammad Ali said individuals involved in electricity theft had been identified and reports had been forwarded to the relevant police station for legal action.
He said PESCO would continue such operations to curb electricity theft, reduce line losses, and improve the power distribution system in the region.
