SSP Qazi reviews Muharram security at Imambargahs

ISLAMABAD, Jun 05 (APP): Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza visited various Imambargahs in the federal capital and reviewed security arrangements to ensure safety of mourners during Muharram-ul-Haram.

An official told APP on Friday that SSP Qazi met police officers and personnel deployed on security duties and inspected the overall security and screening arrangements at different Imambargahs.

Qazi reviewed the checking process and issued necessary directions to further strengthen existing security measures.
He directed officers and personnel to remain highly vigilant during duty hours, maintain close watch on suspicious individuals and vehicles, and ensure strict implementation of all security standard operating procedures (SOPs).
The SSP also emphasized making the checking process more effective and purposeful to prevent any untoward incident during Muharram-ul-Haram.
Qazi said maintaining law and order and ensuring protection of citizens’ lives and property remained among the top priorities of Islamabad Police during Muharram.
He added that all available resources were being utilized to provide a peaceful and secure environment for mourners and the general public throughout the holy month.
