Governor Kundi directs PESCO to avoid unannounced loadshedding

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Friday directed the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) to avoid unannounced load-shedding across the province, particularly in Dera Ismail Khan, during Muharram-ul-Haram. 

PESHAWAR, Jun 05 (APP): Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Friday directed the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) to avoid unannounced load-shedding across the province, particularly in Dera Ismail Khan, during Muharram-ul-Haram.
The directive was issued during a meeting with a PESCO delegation led by Chief Executive Engineer Akhtar Hameed Khan at Governor House.
The Governor was informed that the required equipment for the Band Korai Grid Station had been delivered, paving the way for its early inauguration.
He also said the Dera Ismail Khan 220-KV Grid Station would be inaugurated after legal issues were resolved.
Kundi emphasized the need for PESCO to engage local elders and utilize the jirga system to address public complaints, while directing the immediate repair of faulty transformers in Dera Ismail Khan and the provision of necessary facilities and equipment to the SE Office.
He called for effective measures to prevent transformer theft and instructed the DIG Dera Ismail Khan to take special steps in this regard.
The Governor further directed authorities to resolve load management issues on the Dera Ismail Khan–Paharpur line on a priority basis and ensure the early activation of the PESCO office computer lab in Dera Ismail Khan for the timely issuance of electricity bills.
Necessary instructions were also issued to address load management issues on the Mandra and CRBC feeders. Head of Grid Stations Habib ur Rehman also attended the meeting.
