We must promote environment friendly lifestyle: Sharjeel

Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said that protecting the environment was a collective responsibility of all of us. He emphasized that, in order to ensure a safe future for coming generations, we must adopt and promote an environment friendly lifestyle. 

KARACHI, Jun 05 (APP): Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said that protecting the environment was a collective responsibility of all of us. He emphasized that, in order to ensure a safe future for coming generations, we must adopt and promote an environment friendly lifestyle.
In his message on the occasion of World Environment Day on Friday, he said that the Sindh Government was setting a new example in Pakistan for environmental protection and has taken several practical steps in this regard.
Sharjeel Inam Memon said that the Sindh Government had introduced the concept of green transport by launching electric (EV) buses in the first phase. He added that, for the first time in Pakistan, eco-friendly EV buses and EV scooters had been introduced. He said that this modern transport system was playing an important role in providing comfortable, safe and quality travel facilities to the public while significantly reducing air pollution.
He further stated that a plan to add hundreds more electric buses to the public transport system has also been approved. This initiative will not only provide improved travel facilities to citizens but will also help promote environmentally friendly transportation. Sharjeel Inam Memon said that the Sindh Government has demonstrated that sustainable development and environmental protection can go hand in hand.
He reiterated the Sindh Government’s commitment is to further intensify its efforts to provide the people with a clean, safe, and sustainable environment. He added that the government will continue to advance the journey of green and sustainable development in line with the vision of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
