Dera Ismail Khan , Jun 05 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan, Hikmatullah, chaired an important review meeting on arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram, directing all relevant departments to ensure comprehensive security measures and uninterrupted public services during the sacred month.
The meeting was attended by additional deputy commissioners, assistant commissioners, and representatives of the Health Department, Police, Rescue 1122, Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA), Public Health Engineering Department, and PESCO.
Officials from various departments briefed the meeting on preparations made for Muharram and assured the district administration that all necessary arrangements would be completed on time. They pledged to fulfill their responsibilities effectively to facilitate mourners and maintain law and order.
The meeting was informed that special cleanliness campaigns would be carried out across the district, while adequate street lighting would be ensured in procession routes, Imambargahs, and surrounding neighborhoods. Authorities also discussed measures to maintain an uninterrupted electricity supply and ensure the availability of emergency medical services.
Health Department officials and Rescue 1122 representatives assured the meeting that ambulances and medical teams would remain on high alert throughout Muharram to respond promptly to any emergency situation.
Addressing the participants, the deputy commissioner emphasized the importance of promoting inter-sect harmony, brotherhood, and unity during Muharram. He said maintaining a peaceful environment and fostering mutual respect among all schools of thought was essential.
Hikmatullah urged all departments to work in close coordination, stressing that the successful management of Muharram arrangements required collective efforts rather than individual performance.
He directed PESCO authorities to avoid load-shedding during Muharram and instructed the police to implement a comprehensive security plan for processions and religious gatherings. He also called for strict enforcement of security measures to prevent any untoward incident and ensure the safety of mourners.
The district administration reaffirmed its commitment to providing all necessary facilities and maintaining peace across the district during Muharram-ul-Haram.
