Food safety team fines milk sellers, disposes of substandard milk in DIKhan

Dera Ismail Khan , Jun 05 (APP):The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority’s food safety team conducted an inspection of milk-selling shops and supply vehicles in Dera Ismail Khan and imposed heavy fines on vendors found selling substandard milk.
The operation was carried out on the directives of Director General KP Food Safety and Halal Food Authority Kashif Jilani and Deputy Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Hikmatullah.
During the inspection, officials collected milk samples from various retailers and suppliers and tested them on-site using a modern mobile testing laboratory. According to the authority, several samples met the prescribed quality standards, while others were found to be below the required benchmarks.
Authorities imposed substantial fines on shopkeepers and suppliers whose milk samples failed quality tests. A large quantity of substandard milk was also destroyed on the spot to prevent its sale and consumption.
Food business operators were directed to strictly comply with food safety regulations and ensure that milk quality meets the standards set by the authority.
Officials said that such enforcement actions would continue without interruption to ensure the provision of safe and quality food products to the public and to protect consumers from health risks associated with adulterated and substandard food items.
